In emergencies, such as the recent devastating wildfires, the immediate response and assistance of the civil society organizations, regardless of their field of action and expertise, is highly important. In this context, a few days ago, METAdrasi visited the 2nd Fire Station of Piraeus in order to deliver to the firefighters, the tireless protagonists of the last days, essential items that we had collected with the support of UNHCR GREECE.
There we met the Commander, a man full of energy, new ideas and dedication to his work, who showed us around the upgraded areas of the Station and talked to us about the difficult work of the firefighters. We discussed ways in which we could co-operate in the future, including through our participation in trainings related to fire safety.
