The Mini Lexicon for Basic Communication, available in 8 different languages, is a tool used to facilitate day-to-day communication between refugees and migrants with Greek or English-speaking persons. This tool enables non-Greek/non-English speakers to communicate their general needs, as well as information on issues related to housing, food, health, and protection.
Special chapters are also included for women and unaccompanied children. In order to enable two-way speaking interaction, all entries are phonetically transcribed in Arabic, Farsi, Sorani, Kurmanji, Urdu, French, Turkish and Ukrainian along with their Greek and English translations.
The eight mini-lexicons are printed and distributed to beneficiaries for free. Corresponding lexicons are made available to site managers, service providers and other actors in open accommodation sites around the country.
Electronic versions of the Mini Lexicon are also available online and can be downloaded and printed according to one’s needs. Below, you can download the Mini Lexicon as a PDF document.
