In June 19, 2017, METAdrasi, in cooperation with “Open Schools” of the Municipality of Athens, initiated a summer educational programme and continued the implementation of relevant educational activities throughout the school year 2017-2018, with the participation of more than 1,500 children. In the summer of 2018, METAdrasi carries out the new summer educational programme in schools of Athens.
This is a non-formal education programme, addressed to minors aged 6 to 18, who live in temporary hosting facilities, in accommodation facilities for unaccompanied minors and in apartments, but it also welcomes the children that live in the neighborhood.
The activity provides lessons of Greek, English and German, as well as mathematics, history, geography, arts and culture. The activity’s primary aim is the preparation and integration in the formal education, by creating a safe framework for refugee and migrant children.
Classes are delivered by the experienced educational staff of METAdrasi, daily at 10:00-13:00 & 16:00-19:00, in schools at the center of Athens. Additionally, intensive lessons of Greek, English, German and computer skills are offered to teenagers aged 16 to 18, in METAdrasi’s space.
Registrations take place at METAdrasi’s offices in Tavros (7, 25 Martiou street, 1st floor, “Kallithea” train station), Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00 or through the website by filling in the registration form.
