Having successfully completed the summer education programme “Step2School”, with the participation of 350 children, METAdrasi, in consistent cooperation with the “Open Schools” project of the Municipality of Athens, continues the programme in schools throughout the city.
“Step2School” is a non-formal summer education programme, serving minors aged 6 to 18 that live in temporary hosting facilities. The programme also accepts minors from unaccompanied accommodation facilities and welcomes other children that live in the neighbourhood.
The programme provides remedial education in the form of afternoon support classes, which emphasize language acquisition, mathematics, and homework support. With classes delivered by METAdrasi’s experienced educational staff, the programme establishes a framework of support for the integration of refugee and migrant children.
Lessons for children aged 6-18 οccur weekdays, at 16:00-20:00, in one school in Athens. Additionally, intensive lessons in Greek, English and German for children 6-12 and teenagers aged 16 to 18 are provided from 14:00 to 18:00 at METAdrasi’s offices.
Enrollment for all courses takes place at METAdrasi’s offices in Tavros (7, 25 Martiou Street, 1st floor, “Kallithea” train station), Monday to Friday 10:00-17:00.
