
POSITION SUMMARY
METAdrasi has a diverse fundraising and income generation portfolio, comprised of grants contracts and donations from the EU, the UN, other Institutional Grantors, Foundations and Individual Donors.
The Development Officer will work closely with the Program and Development team to secure funds and donations for the organisation.
In a quick response environment, driven by funder and donor deadlines, the Development Officer will utilize information from the Program and Development team, information reports in the field to compile appropriate information products, including funding proposals, donor reports and complete administration tasks.
The Development Officer will review key funder and donor contractual documents, track grants and contracts during their life cycle, and ensure that METAdrasi’s grants contracts and donation reporting are up to date.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Grant Submissions and Reporting
- Help prepare funding proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and other material for foundations, corporations and public agencies.
- Maintain a master schedule of deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
- Manage follow-up tasks and communications.
Donor Prospect Research
- Help research and identify institutional and individual donor prospects.
- Manage files and a database of information on donors and prospects.
- Prepare donor prospect profiles and background material for solicitors.
- Schedule meetings or site visits with donor prospects.
- Fulfill donor benefits and ensure that all gifts have been acknowledged.
- Coordinate any cultivation or donor recognition activities; prepare invitations, programs and other material for events or meetings.
- Prepare all donor gift acknowledgement letters.
- Help manage annual events.
Annual Fund Appeals
- Coordinate the annual appeal package and gift renewals; procure mailing lists and oversee data and content for mailings.
- Prepare reports of donor acquisition and renewal campaigns.
Database Management
- Maintain an accurate database of current and prospective donors, funding applications and their outcomes.
- Oversee the generation of development reports.
- Review and reconcile monthly financial report of donations with our Finance Department.
Communications
Work closely with the Communications Team to raise the awareness of our work among key donors and funders.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in development/fundraising.
- Knowledge and interest in social issues and/or contemplative practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, superior attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Web-based searches and fundraising database systems.
- Flexibility and team-orientation.
