Refugee and migrant children, participating in METAdrasi’s non-formal education activities in Chios, visited the 7th Chios Primary School, on the occasion of the World Refugee Day.

Our students, together with the students of the 7th Primary School, took part in activities with the aim of promoting multiculturalism and mutual respect. Children and teachers read stories about diversity, made paintings and constructions, sang and played.

At the end of the event, the teachers treated the children ice creams, a gesture that was met with enthusiasm, while METAdrasi’s students gave bracelets they had made as a small present.

On the occasion of this special day, METAdrasi’s teachers and their colleagues of the 7th Chios Primary School, had the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas.

Initiatives such as this, strengthen solidarity and support children’s integration into formal education and local society.

METAdrasi’s educational activities in Chios and Lesvos are implemented with the support of UNHCR.
