Following the excellent cooperation and the remarkable results of the project “Together in Sport – Phase II”, METAdrasi’s President, Lοra Pappa, the Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum, Ms Sofia Voultepsi and the Secretary General for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection, Mr Heracles Moskoff, signed yesterday, February 19th, a Memorandum of Cooperation.
“Together in Sport – Phase II” gives refugee and asylum-seeking children and youth (up to 21 years old) the opportunity to participate in sports and cultural activities, together with their peers from the local community.
Through sport and culture children and young people prove that they do not discriminate against each other in terms of gender, colour or religion, as demonstrated by the great success of “Together in Sport – Phase II”. A success to which the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons & Institutional Protection of the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum contributes substantially through its support to the project.
“Together in Sport – Phase II” is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). The German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) supports with coordination and co-funding. The project is also co-funded by the AMIF (2021-2027).
