METAdrasi is seeking to hire a new member to join its Fundraising Department. The selected individual will participate in all activities related to sourcing new funding from institutional donors (EU, UN, bilateral donors), foundations, and individuals, developing and submitting funding proposals, monitoring the implementation of existing projects, and drafting evaluation reports for the donors.
Responsibilities:
• Design, draft and submit high-quality funding proposals to various potential funding providers, including EU funds and foundations, under tight deadlines
• Compose arguments with strong logical flow and excellent use of available data; make a convincing case for support to a variety of audiences, from individual to institutional
• Research potential funders and how their priorities fit with the Organization’s; understand the needs of donors and funders; respect donor requirements during proposal submission and during the implementation of projects
• Monitor the implementation process of different projects; draft high-quality, data-rich, and concise project monitoring and final reports; liaise and communicate with donors and partners
• Cooperate closely with other relevant departments (Finance, Communications, Monitoring & Evaluation) within the Organization and develop new project ideas together with other Programme staff and with the project managers
• Participate in the design and implementation of the Organization’s fundraising strategy
Required skills and competencies:
• Higher education degree in related areas (Political Science, Law, Social Science, or Media)
• Three years’ experience in a related position, preferably with an NGO, charitable foundation, or non-profit organization
• Proven experience in writing and submitting funding proposals and/or in drafting evaluation reports and/or drafting high-quality, conciseand persuasive prose in a similar context
• Fluency in English, both written and oral
• Highly developed communication and presentation skills in both Greek and English
• Ability to create and develop interpersonal relations in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the internet
• Creative problem-solver and concept developer, high analytical skills, ability to take initiative with a strategy in mind, able to work under pressure and deadlines, excellent multitasker
Desirable skills:
• Previous experience working abroad
• Ability to design and understand budgets
• Good knowledge of the non-profit sector, refugee response, migration and child protection in Greece
