“I stay at home but I continue to learn the language of the country where I live.”
“I read your e-mail and I am very happy and thank you for everything. It’s a great idea to meet together in class on the internet.”
“Hello, teacher!”
“Thank you for helping us learn Greek.”
These are just some of the messages that students send daily to METAdrasi’s teachers, recognizing their great effort to continue classes via distance learning. Messages that are the best reward for all of METAdrasi’s educators, as well as for our brilliant volunteers, who are trying to achieve the best possible result so as not to rule out a single student from the educational process.
With the announcement of the suspension of all schools in the country due to the pandemic, METAdrasi’s Educational team immediately launched a comprehensive plan to make good use of available digital educational tools and methods. In a short period of time, we managed to create 23 digital classes of synchronous and asynchronous learning on the subject of Greek, English and German, while using a variety of digital media and tools such as the Google Classroom platform, Skype etc. Classes are taking place on a daily basis and students have the opportunity to process educational material, which has been created entirely by the educators specifically for the needs of each class. In live streaming lessons, new material is taught, explanations are given and students are given the possibility of direct interaction, as if they were in a real school!
So far, 282 adult and 206 young students from all parts of Greece are given access to METAdrasi’s distance learning courses, while 125 students have already actively participated in the first two weeks of distance learning.
The registration process is now open for young (6-18 years) and adult students. In order to register you need to complete the form (link below) with Latin characters and e-mail it to mkoumianaki@metadrasi.org & ndimitrouka@metadrasi.org
