The opening of METAdrasi’s photo exhibition “Chios Land”, with the works of Mustafa Omar, a teenager from Syria who lives in METAdrasi’s Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Chios, took place at the foyer of the Supreme Court of Greece, within an emotional atmosphere.
Warm words regarding Mustafa and his works, as well as about the importance of supporting unaccompanied children in Greece, were shared by the president of the Supreme Court Vasilios Peppas, Supreme Court Prosecutor Xeni Dimitriou, METAdrasi’s President Lora Pappa, Chios Public Prosecutor Spyridoula Stavrati, METAdrasi’s Facility Manager in Chios Matina Solomakou and UNICEF ‘s Country Coordinator Refugee and Migrant Response in Greece Lucio Melandri.
Mustafa addressed the audience saying: “My intention is to show you, behind the “refugee” cover, that they still remain humans with feelings of happiness or sadness, like all of us here.”
We invite you all to visit this special exhibition. Mustafa will appreciate your sharing with him your impressions at the visitors’ book!
The exhibition will last until the 6th of July 2018 and will be open to the public on workdays, from 9:00 to 15:00.
We warmly thank the General Procecutor’ s Office of the Supreme Court of Greece for the kind invitation and hosting of the exhibition, as well as for their support in our efforts to protect unaccompanied children.
