Sunday culinary meetings for the unaccompanied children of our Transit Accommodation Facility in Chios

05.02.2021

The unaccompanied children of our Transit Accommodation Facility in Chios have turned Sunday mornings into culinary meetings. Early in the morning, they start cooking, “marrying” recipes of their countries with Greek traditional ones, in a celebration of flavors and aromas.

Pots and pans come out of the drawers and the cabinets, while the oven and the stove get preheated. Our young chefs run around preparing sweet and salty flavors in order to satisfy even the most demanding tastes. At the same time, they never fail to consult their notes from the cooking training they had attended for secret tips that will boost their creations.

And when everything is ready, the tables are set and they all sit together like one big family to enjoy a luxurious breakfast of high gastronomy, accompanied by small talk and lots of laughs.

METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facility in Chios is funded since June 2020 by EEA Grants in the framework of the Asylum and Migration programme.
