With great pride, the unaccompanied children of the Transit Accommodation Facilities in Samos and Chios participated in the parades of the 28th of October in Samos and the 11th of November in Chios.
After rehearsing together with their classmates to learn how to march for the parade, they also searched for the appropriate clothes, according to the instructions of their teachers. There were many conversations in the accommodation facilities about the importance of the events in which they had been asked to participate.
And on the day of the parades, they put on their best clothes and went to find their classmates. With pride and the Greek flag in front of them, the children marched under the warm applause of their friends and all the spectators.
How much this simple applause made the children feel that they belonged, that they were participating together with the other children of the island!
