Activities at Panionios
Together in Sport-Phase II “launched” its second period of implementation at the facilities of the Panionios Gymnastics Club of Nea Smyrni. 115 children, from the 9th Primary School of Daphne and the Intercultural School of N. Ionia, with the support of experienced coaches, were trained in four Olympic sports, basketball, football, volleyball, and athletics.
Bridging Worlds
METAdrasi in cooperation with “Scouts of Greece” (Scouts of Eastern Attica) organized the event “Bridging Worlds” reflecting the connection of different communities. All 170 children between 13 and 17 years of age, refugees from shelters for minors and their peer Scouts participated in various activities in the center of Athens. The day ended in the beautiful area of the Scout Educational Center where the children tasted different cuisines and learned scouting knot techniques.
Official launch of Together in Sport-Phase II
METAdrasi in cooperation with the Hellenic Olympic Committee celebrated the official launch of the second cycle of the “Together in Sport” programme on the 6th of December. “Together in Sport-Phase II”, includes a variety of cultural activities, as well as children and young adults up to 21 years of age, both refugees and from the local communities. Furthermore, it provides a more inclusive framework as it also embraces children and young people with physical or mental disabilities. Over the next three years, Together in Sport-Phase II will continue to bridge differences and help shape an even more open, inclusive society.
Sports Activities at Olympiacos FC
Students from the 3rd Primary School of Keratsini, the 87th Primary School of Athens, and the 1st Primary School of N.Faliro participated in two memorable sport meetings at Olympiacos FC Sports Club, engaging into activities featuring Handball, Beach volley, Kick Boxing/Boxing, and Tennis.

In the colourful and open to diversity 133rd Primary School of Athens, Together in Sport II organized a beautiful sports feast. Distinguished athletes showcased and practiced along with the students Olympic sports such as fencing, jiu-jitsu, shooting, basketball and volleyball.
Beginning of Tae Kwon Do trainings
Regular Tae Kwon Do training sessions are now available for children aged 7-11 and 12-17 years old, at the facilities of OPAN Piraeus, with the assistance of experienced coaches that introduce children to this popular martial art.
“Together in Sport-Phase II” is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), co-funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany (BAMF) and the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (TAME – AMIF). The activity is carried out in cooperation with municipalities in different regions of Greece.
