{"id":26106614,"date":"2021-10-13T10:09:27","date_gmt":"2021-10-13T07:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/campaign\/together-in-sport\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T19:57:22","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T16:57:22","slug":"together-in-sport","status":"publish","type":"campaign","link":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/campaign\/together-in-sport\/","title":{"rendered":"Together in Sport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;]<br \/>\n\t\t\t[et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;]<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t[et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221;]METAdrasi in cooperation with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), is implementing the European pilot project \u201cTogether in Sport\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the project is, using sports as a social institution, to give the chance to asylum seeking children and youngsters to get in touch and learn more about organized sports, but also to develop relationships through sports with their peers from the local communities.<br \/>\nThe project, which is offered <strong>free of charge, <\/strong>is addressed to asylum seeking children and youngsters aged 7-17 and their peers from local communities. \u201cTogether in Sport\u201d is implemented with the support of cooperating \u039cunicipalities in Attica and the rest of Greece.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTogether in Sport\u201d aims to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultivate and promote values like mutual respect, team spirit and intercultural tolerance.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize the participants with the values of Olympic education.<\/li>\n<li>Improve the everyday life of asylum seeking children\/youngsters and to enhance their sense of belonging.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the existing structures and the initiatives regarding the reception and the care especially of unaccompanied minors at local level.<\/li>\n<li>Promote new communication channels through sports, in order to enable the peaceful coexistence among children and youngsters coming from different cultural backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the reservations of local communities towards asylum seekers and improve and strengthen social cohesion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) have jointly undertaken the supervision and implementation of a diverse sports education offer. All children and youngsters will have the opportunity to participate on a regular basis in sports activities, in various types of sports. The programme also includes recreational and cultural activities of an educational nature (visits to museums, archaeological sites, sports facilities etc.)<\/p>\n<p>The sports programme will be implemented in each municipality separately, in accordance with the age groups of the participants.
