Within just 48 hours of receiving the relevant request, a METAdrasi escort arrived in Crete to pick up a 4-year-old girl from Iraq who was being hosted at the General Hospital of Heraklion.\r\n\r\nThe goal was her immediate and safe transfer to an appropriate accommodation facility in Athens, where she would be able to receive the protection and care she needs.\r\n\r\nEvery accompaniment support mission is a journey of protection.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSince November 2025, METAdrasi\u2019s activity \u201cEscorting missions for unaccompanied children\u201d is implemented in the framework of the project \u201cStrengthening protection systems for unaccompanied migrant children and vulnerable women applicants and beneficiaries of international protection\u201d funded by the National Development Program for the Programming Period 2021-2025 through the Special Coordination and Management Service for Migration and Home Affairs Programmes of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum.\r\n\r\nFrom 1 November 2025 to date, more than 1,150 unaccompanied children have been escorted.\r\n\r\nIn this effort, the support of Attica Group has been invaluable. METAdrasi once again took part in the WELCOME 2026 Career Day, through its Stepping Stone programme. The event was organized by the Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee Issues of the Municipality of Athens and took place on March 31 at the Serafeio of the Municipality of Athens.\r\n\r\nIn an event that recorded a remarkable number of participants, more than 450 refugees and migrants had the opportunity to connect directly with companies, attend job interviews, and take an important step toward their integration into the Greek labor market.\r\n\r\nThe Stepping Stone team was there, actively supporting participants with specialized services such as:\r\n\u2714\ufe0f career counseling\r\n\u2714\ufe0f CV writing support\r\n\u2714\ufe0f interview preparation\r\n\u2714\ufe0f information on labor rights\r\n\r\nAt the same time, parents were able to leave their children in the creative activities area supported by METAdrasi.\r\n\r\nA day full of opportunities, empowerment, and meaningful steps toward inclusion.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMET\u0391drasi\u2019s Stepping Stone programme is implemented with the support of UNHCR, the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation and the Organisation\u2019s own resources.<\/div><\/article>

METAdrasi\u2019s 9th training session for Guardianship Mandated Persons of Unaccompanied Minors has been successfully completed, bringing together a five-day programme focused on key aspects of the protection and support of unaccompanied children.\r\n\r\nThroughout the training, participants engaged with a broad range of important topics, including the role of Guardianship Mandated Persons and the legal framework in Greece, durable solutions for unaccompanied children, access to asylum, the Dublin Regulation, intercultural awareness, foster care, human trafficking, child development, and trauma-informed care.\r\n\r\nWith contributions from METAdrasi\u2019s specialised staff and representatives of institutional bodies, the training served as another important milestone in further strengthening the role of Guardianship Mandated Persons, always with the best interests of every child at its core.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSince November 1, 2023, the activity of Guardinship for Unaccompanied Minors in Greece, is being implemented with METAdrasi as the coordinating partner and Praksis as a partner, within the framework of the \"National Guardianship System\" with funding from the \u201cProgramme Greece \u2013 Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027\u201d, co-financed by the European Union.<\/div><\/article>
