METAdrasi in the WELCOME 2026 Career Day<\/h2><\/div><\/div>METAdrasi once again took part in the WELCOME 2026 Career Day, through its Stepping Stone programme. The event was organized by the Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee Issues of the Municipality of Athens and took place on March 31 at the Serafeio of the Municipality of Athens.\r\n\r\nIn an event that recorded a remarkable number of participants, more than 450 refugees and migrants had the opportunity to connect directly with companies, attend job interviews, and take an important step toward their integration into the Greek labor market.\r\n\r\nThe Stepping Stone team was there, actively supporting participants with specialized services such as:\r\n\u2714\ufe0f career counseling\r\n\u2714\ufe0f CV writing support\r\n\u2714\ufe0f interview preparation\r\n\u2714\ufe0f information on labor rights\r\n\r\nAt the same time, parents were able to leave their children in the creative activities area supported by METAdrasi.\r\n\r\nA day full of opportunities, empowerment, and meaningful steps toward inclusion.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nMET\u0391drasi\u2019s Stepping Stone programme is implemented with the support of UNHCR, the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation and the Organisation\u2019s own resources.<\/div><\/article><\/span><\/div>Two days, two accompaniment support teams, one goal: the safe transfer of unaccompanied children<\/h2><\/div><\/div>Two girls from Somalia, along with other children, were transferred from the refugee camp on Kos to an accommodation facility on Lesvos, as part of METAdrasi\u2019s accompaniment support mission for unaccompanied minors.\r\n\r\nThe mission lasted two days and was carried out in two stages: first, from Kos and Leros to Athens by ferry with the first escort team, and then from Athens to Lesvos by air with a second team that took over the accompaniment mission.\r\n\r\nWith a strong sense of responsibility and dedication, METAdrasi\u2019s accompaniment support teams make sure that every unaccompanied child reaches a suitable accommodation facility safely.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSince November 2025, METAdrasi\u2019s activity \u201cEscorting missions for unaccompanied children\u201d is implemented in the framework of the project \u201cStrengthening protection systems for unaccompanied migrant children and vulnerable women applicants and beneficiaries of international protection\u201d funded by the National Development Program for the Programming Period 2021-2025 through the Special Coordination and Management Service for Migration and Home Affairs Programmes of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum.<\/div><\/article><\/span><\/div>METAdrasi’s annual vasilopita<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\nWith joy, warmth, and plenty of delicious food from around the world prepared by the METAdrasi team, we celebrated our annual vasilopita cutting in our new offices.\r\n\r\nSlices were shared for all our teams and all our locations across Greece \u2014 on the mainland and islands \u2014 as well as in Cyprus. This year, for the first time, the lucky coin fell to METAdrasi itself. The other two lucky coins went to two much-loved members of our team: little Avra from the Accompaniment Support Department and the wonderful Hamida, one of METAdrasi\u2019s exceptional interpreters.\r\n\r\nAs every year, one of the most meaningful moments of our celebration was the awarding of the Conrad N. And as global developments continue to unfold, the number of people forced to flee their homes in order to save their lives and protect their families does not seem to be decreasing. Unaccompanied refugee children and Greek children ran side by side, sharing the same route, the same effort, the same enthusiasm, and the joy of being part of the race.\r\n\r\nThis year\u2019s participation was especially meaningful for us, as we had the joy and honour of running together with the children of the \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d team. Every moment was filled with laughter, excitement, and the pure joy of creating something from scratch.\r\nNow we\u2019re eagerly waiting to receive their creations \u2014 we can\u2019t wait to see the final results!\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nSince August 2023, METAdrasi\u2019s Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Samos, operates with the support of the Migration and Home Affairs Funds (TAMEY), co-funded by the European Union.<\/div><\/article><\/span><\/div>Winter clothing for refugees: a contribution with meaningful impact<\/h2><\/div><\/div>METAdrasi delivered 83 boxes of winter clothes for women, men, and children to an accommodation facility for asylum seekers outside Athens. These clothes can make a real difference in winter\u2014offering warmth and dignity to people who need it most. This year once again, our team proudly took part in the Athens Half Marathon and the 5K race, alongside 30,000 runners who filled the city centre with energy and excitement.\r\n\r\nThis year\u2019s participation was especially meaningful for us, as we had the joy and honour of running together with the children of the \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d team. METAdrasi delivered 83 boxes of winter clothes for women, men, and children to an accommodation facility for asylum seekers outside Athens. These clothes can make a real difference in winter\u2014offering warmth and dignity to people who need it most.
