Children on move\u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The photos of the\u00a0photojournalist GMB Akash give voice to the children-victims of the refugee crisis in the exhibition entitled\u00a0\u00abWHY? Children on move\u00bb\u00a0from\u00a020\/4\/2016 to\u00a022\/5\/2016.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is taking place in the main building of Benaki Museum as the result of a collaboration between the Greek non profit organization\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.merimna.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">&#8220;Merimna&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0and the Swiss\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apcd-fondation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">&#8220;Foundation Archives + Production of Contemporary Art&#8221; (APCd)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The photographer GMB Akash, with eloquent simplicity and\u00a0in a direct way, captures the drama of the refugees, with the goal\u00a0to awaken the viewer to the immense challenges encountered by refugee children who are forced to migrate in search of safety and hope and, at the same time, to advocate for their undeniable right to live a dignified life in a world that recognizes and respects their rights and needs.<\/p>\n<p>Photos printed on paper rolls scattered on the floor, similar to the fate of thousands of children, scattered on the road. Captions freely glued on\u00a0the wall, describe the stories of these children and their families.<div class=\"custom-slick-slider\"><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/AKASH5-752x450.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/AKASH4-752x450.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/AKASH3-752x450.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/AKASH2-752x450.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><\/div>As part of the preparation of this exhibition, GMB Akash visited <a href=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/campaigns\/transit-accommodation-facility-for-unaccompanied-minors-in-lesvos\/\" target=\"_blank\">METAdrasi&#8217;s Transit Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Lesvos<\/a>\u00a0and took pictures of the children, protecting their identities\u00a0with sensitivity and inventiveness.
