{"id":26019578,"date":"2018-02-15T11:00:42","date_gmt":"2018-02-15T09:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/legion-of-honour-decoration\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T14:02:45","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T12:02:45","slug":"legion-of-honour-decoration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/legion-of-honour-decoration\/","title":{"rendered":"Legion of Honour to METAdrasi&#8217;s president Lora Pappa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/legiondhonneur_b.gif\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\">On Thursday, February 8th, a special ceremony took place in the French Embassy, for the &#8220;<strong>Legion of Honour<\/strong>&#8221; decoration of METAdrasi\u2019s President Lora Pappa by the French Minister of European Affairs, Nathalie Loiseau, in the presence of METAdrasi\u2019s team members from all over Greece and many friends and supporters of the Organization.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Pappa, stating that &#8220;Humanism is no one&#8217;s property&#8221;, dedicated this distinction to METAdrasi\u2019s team members that &#8220;<strong>do their best, daily, in the field, under adverse circumstances<\/strong>&#8220;, as well as to the tens of thousands of supporters, that come from different sectors, but all contribute &#8220;\u2026<strong>in their own way to a common goal: to help and protect other people that are found on European ground, in Greece, in order to escape violence, persecutions, conflicts, intolerance and poverty<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Pappa thanked the French Minister and the French Ambassador, highlighting the French state\u2019s significant support, thanks to which METAdrasi created the first and only accommodation facility for unaccompanied minors in Chios, which is operating today thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snf.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Stavros Niarchos Foundation<\/a>, that followed on <a href=\"https:\/\/gr.ambafrance.org\/-Francais-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">France\u2019s<\/a> support. She referred to the children who have been offered hospitality there: &#8220;Some of these children are today in Germany, in Sweden, in Austria and in other member states of the E.E. In a few years, they will become European citizens.
