{"id":26023434,"date":"2018-06-20T08:40:24","date_gmt":"2018-06-20T05:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/maker-space-serafio\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T15:28:17","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T13:28:17","slug":"maker-space-serafio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/maker-space-serafio\/","title":{"rendered":"Science and technology open day with Maker Space at Serafio: widening the horizons of the unaccompanied teenagers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div class=\"custom-slick-slider\"><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/makers_space_metadrasi_e.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/makers_space_metadrasi_a.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/makers_space_metadrasi_c.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/makers_space_metadrasi_b.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><div class=\"slider-item\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/makers_space_metadrasi_d.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/div><\/div>Robot duels, space travels with virtual reality gadgets, toys created with 3D printers and laser cutters: these are only some of the unique experiences that the unaccompanied teenagers, supported by METAdrasi\u2019s \u201cSupported Independent Living\u201d activity, had the chance to live during the science and technology open day that took place at Serafio, on Saturday, June 9.<\/p>\n<p>Maker Space is a key component of the innovative \u201cDesigned for Better Learning\u201d programme by the City of Athens, implemented in collaboration with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tielabtuc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">TUC TIE Lab<\/a>\u00a0of the Technical University of Crete, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.snf.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Stavros Niarchos Foundation<\/a>\u00a0as exclusive donor and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/athenspartnership.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Athens Partnership<\/a>\u00a0as coordinator. \u201cDesigned for Better Learning\u201d received the Gold Award at Education Leaders Awards 2018, in the category &#8220;Best Learning Experience&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The unaccompanied teenagers gained invaluable information and knowledge, that we hope that will add to their skills&#8217;
