Under the supervision of METAdrasi\u2019s local coordinator, they went to the nearby city of Xanthi where they watched the basketball match between the women\u2019s national team of Greece and the national team of Portugal for the qualifying phase of EuroBasket 2023.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It was the first time the children watched live the sport of basketball, which excited them. The teenagers, despite the weather conditions, arrived much earlier at the meeting point, where souvenirs were given. After everyone had warmed up, the athletes proceeded to demonstrate various techniques. Then the minors tried the same techniques. They all watched videos of Tae Kwon Do matches with great athletes. And at the end, souvenirs were distributed to all participants and to the amazing coach, who created a very friendly atmosphere by guiding and inspiring the children. They all expressed the desire to repeat the event and some of them said that they wanted to start practicing the sport on a regular basis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns: 43% auto;\">\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1920\" class=\"wp-image-21256 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/IMG_20211103_195159-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\r\n<p><strong><em>Athens<\/em><\/strong><strong><br \/>Discovering the sport of wrestling <\/strong>\u2013 3\/11<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Minors from METadrasi, SolidarityNow and Red Cross programmes, attended the training of wrestling organized by the club Atlanta in Kallithea. The president of the club welcomed the children and spoke to them about the long history of the sport in Greece, as well as the basic principles. At the end of the event, the children received souvenirs.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\">\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2016\" height=\"1512\" class=\"wp-image-21257 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/BBD1F5B7-B015-478C-9009-B7C2CC8FE922.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\r\n<p><strong><em>Athens<\/em><\/strong><br \/><strong>A visit to the Athens Olympic Museum<\/strong> \u2013 16\/11<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The students of the Primary School of Chalkoutsi and Malakassa participated in the tour that took place at the Olympic Museum. The children were thrilled with the narration about the Olympic sports. They were particularly curious about the Olympic torch, asking questions, such as when and where the first torch was created, etc. At the end of their visit, they watched a short video, where in 2 minutes they saw all the Olympic sports, inspiring them to choose a sport to practice.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns: 36% auto;\">\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"1280\" class=\"wp-image-21258 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/thumbnail_IMG_4282.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\r\n<p><strong><em>Athens<br \/><\/em>At the emblematic Panathenaic Stadium<\/strong> &#8211; 19\/11<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Students of the 2nd High School of Intercultural Education made an excursion to the Panathenaic Stadium. The students were informed about the rich history of the Stadium, the history of its construction, but also of its restoration, its architecture and location, as well as the role it has played in many important moments for sport and culture of Greece. Of course, special mention was made of the Olympic Games, with which the Stadium is closely connected. The students told us that they particularly liked the interior of the Museum, but were even more excited about the exterior of the emblematic Stadium.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color\" \/>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cTogether in Sport\u201d, initiated and co-funded by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bamf.de\/EN\/Startseite\/startseite_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees<\/a>, is implemented by METAdrasi in cooperation with the<a href=\"https:\/\/hoc.gr\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0Hellenic Olympic Committee<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dosb.de\/en\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">German Olympic Sports Confederation<\/a>\u00a0and the participation of municipalities all over Greece.
