{"id":26093771,"date":"2022-03-18T13:42:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-18T11:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/educational-trips-helios\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T09:25:14","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T07:25:14","slug":"educational-trips-helios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/educational-trips-helios\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational trips for refugees and migrants within the framework of the HELIOS project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Between January 2020 and December 2021, a number of educational trips and outdoors activities took place within the framework of the <a href=\"https:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/campaigns\/helios-project-learning-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HELIOS<\/a> project of the <a href=\"https:\/\/greece.iom.int\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Organization for Migration (IOM)<\/a> and the Soft Skills courses. These aim to strengthen the contact of refugees and other beneficiaries of international protection with Greek reality and allow them to familiarise themselves with basic daily practices. Instructors from the IRC for the soft skills courses, as well as Greek language instructors from METAdrasi, escorted the students to places which some might have already visited, but also to new places, always framing the visits with information and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:33% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1600\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/\u039c\u039f\u03a5\u03a3\u0395\u0399\u039f-\u0391\u039a\u03a1\u039f\u03a0\u039f\u039b\u0397\u03a3-\u0395\u03a3\u03a9\u03a4\u0395\u03a1\u0399\u039a\u039f-3.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" class=\"wp-image-21889 size-full\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Starting from Ancient Athens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In March 2020, instructors and students visited the Acropolis Museum and the centre for the Integration of Migrants. The visit to the museum was made in the context of the course \u201cGreek History\u201d. Participants made interesting questions about the artefacts, and took notes, while some continued their visit to the Parthenon. The students initially visited the event \u201cCity of Robots\u201d in the context of the course \u201cTechnological innovation and the work market,\u201d where they had the chance to observe various advanced mechanisms and technological achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 55%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1280\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/\u039d\u03b1\u03cc\u03c2-\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5-\u03a0\u03bf\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9\u03b4\u03ce\u03bd\u03b1.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" class=\"wp-image-21893 size-full\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Temple of Poseidon at Sounion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the context of the course \u201cGreek History\u201d the students visited the temple of Poseidon at Sounion, thus starting a discussion on Greek civilisation and Greek history.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Garden<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September 2020, the Soft Skills group visited the National Garden in order to strengthen ties within the group after the end of the first lockdown. The first visit was made within the context of the lessons on Greek culture. The second included a walk along Athenian sites with a historical significance (Pnika, the Ancient Agora and Filopappos Hill) in the context of the lesson \u201cGreek History.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"774\" height=\"1032\" data-id=\"21900\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/PHOTO-2021-12-10-19-16-28.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" class=\"wp-image-21900\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"774\" height=\"1032\" data-id=\"21899\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/PHOTO-2021-12-10-19-16-281.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" class=\"wp-image-21899\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1032\" height=\"774\" data-id=\"21898\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/PHOTO-2021-12-10-19-16-311.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" class=\"wp-image-21898\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Museum of Islamic art \u2013 Temple of Poseidon at Sounion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, due to the prevailing conditions, two excursions took place.
