Additionally, the MoU outlines plans for educating public and private sector employees on child protection, as well as organizing public events on pressing social issues, including climate change, safe internet practices, and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29916\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_TiS_capacity_building_1.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"29916\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29917\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_TiS_capacity_building_2.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"29917\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Child protection trainings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d has launched its series of informational sessions on child protection, with a focus on refugee status and the specific needs of unaccompanied minors. Kicking off at the Municipality of Kallithea, the sessions involved the participation of employees from the Municipality\u2019s day care centers. Trainers from METAdrasi and the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons &amp; Institutional Protection emphasized the protection of refugee children, providing participants with valuable knowledge for both their personal lives and professional roles.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30178\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METArasi_One-world_5.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30178\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30182\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METArasi_One-world_1.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30182\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>One world\u2026 one ball!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than 200 refugee children from the Refugee Accommodation Facilities of Lesvos together with their peers from the local community shared their love for basketball at the sports event \u201cOne world\u2026 one ball\u201d! The day concluded with prize drawings and the awarding of commemorative medals to all participants.<\/p>\n<p>The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Mrs. Sophia Zacharaki, the Mayor of Lavreotiki, Mr. Dimitris Loukas, and members of the municipal council.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30248\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_BAMF-1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The delegation of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany visits METAdrasi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>METAdrasi had the honor of welcoming the Vice President of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany (BAMF) and their delegation to its headquarters. Following discussions on the progress and development of \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d, we visited the Olympiacos Summer Camp. This camp hosts summer activities for children from the Kallithea Educational Center and the Controlled Access Facility for Temporary Accommodation of Asylum Seekers in Corinth. Children from the Facility, alongside local children from Piraeus, were trained in sports such as handball, beach volleyball, tennis, as well as nautical sports, under the guidance of qualified coaches. This collaboration highlights once again the unifying power of sports in fostering socialization and skill development.<\/p>\n<p>After a long, but joyful day distinguished athletes, members of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, METAdrasi, and BAMF had the pleasure of awarding medals and souvenirs to the children.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30249\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Synch_Swimming_2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30249\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30250\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Synch_Swimming_1.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30250\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>\u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d at the National Aquatics Artistic Swimming Championship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Children with their parents from the Controlled Access Facility for Temporary Accommodation of Asylum Seekers in Elefsina and beneficiaries from shelters in Athens had the opportunity to enjoy the National Aquatics Artistic Swimming Championship. \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d joined with an enthusiastic audience in Vari, in one of the most spectacular, elegant and attractive sports, impressing with the technique and harmony of the movements, as well as the originality of the performances and choreographies.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-5 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30252\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Votsalakia-e1725537239122.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30252\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30251\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Votsalakia_1.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30251\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Conclusion of swimming training sessions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The summer period of the regular sports training sessions of \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d ended with the last swimming lesson at Votsalakia beach in Piraeus. The young swimmers, proud to have learned to swim or to have developed their existing swimming skills, all enjoyed the sea together during the hot days of summer!<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-6 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30254\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Surfing-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30254\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30253\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Surfing_1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" data-id=\"30253\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>\u2018Surfing\u2019 safely<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Internet safety for children and young people aged 7 to 21 was the theme of the educational action organized on the initiative of \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d at the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Athens. Focusing on the prevention and management of risks related to new technologies, the action covered important issues that concern and affect parents, teachers, and children.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30255\" src=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/METAdrasi_Kallithea_Summer-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Metadrasi -\" title=\"Metadrasi -\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Activities \u2013 Trainings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An engaging artistic program was held at the Municipality of Kallithea\u2019s summer camps. Over 180 children participated in workshops that included painting, drama play, and theatrical expression, filling their days with color, music, and joy!<\/p>\n<p>Additionaly, in the framework of \u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d workshops, volunteers of the organization \u201cYoga and sports for refugees\u201d of Lesvos received the necessary training in order to initiate this aspiring project.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\" \/>\n<p><em>\u201cTogether in Sport \u2013 Phase II\u201d is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the\u202fHellenic Olympic Committee, and the\u202fGerman Olympic Sports Confederation\u202f(DOSB). The\u202fGerman Federal Office for Migration and Refugees\u202f(BAMF) supports with coordination and co-funding. The project is also co-funded by the AMIF (2021-2027).
