  • 620 children of “Together in Sport-Phase II” attended the handover ceremony of the Olympic Flame that continues its journey to Paris.
  • Refugee children together with their peers from the local community were at the Kallimarmaro Stadium and experienced this unique moment for the world of sport.
  • The children were joined by the General Secretary for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection Heracles Moskoff, and the Head of the Unit of Integration and Support of Unaccompanied Minors, Geli Aroni.
  • The Olympic Flame was brought to the Panathenaic Stadium by the European champion of race walking Antigoni Drisbioti, while the last torchbearer was the captain of the national polo team, Ioannis Fountoulis, joining with his teammates.
  • It was an impressive event that brought the children even closer to the Olympic ideal and the values of sport.

“Together in Sport-Phase II” is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), co-funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees of Germany (BAMF) and the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (TAME – AMIF).
