METAdrasi’s educational activities for refugee and migrant children on the islands: exploring the Petrified Forest

A few days ago, an educational trip took place at the Natural History Museum of Lesvos Petrified Forest, where 20 students, teachers and three volunteers from the Netherlands participated.

As part of the museum’s tour, the children saw exhibits and watched an educational video regarding the island’s geological history, the volcanoes, the earthquakes and the petrified forest, admired the fossilized trunks and were thrilled with the earthquake simulator!

We are very grateful to our Dutch student volunteers, who, for seven days, have been supporting METAdrasi’s non-formal education activities in Lesvos.

METAdrasi’s educational activities in Lesvos and Chios are being implemented with the support of UNHCR.
