METAdrasi welcomes the decision of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum to adopt an amendment related to residence and work permits.
While a moderate intervention, it represents a significant step forward, allowing asylum seekers to access legal employment and decent living within two months, a reduction from the previous six-month waiting period.
At last, this promises a more dignified life for asylum seekers who have long lived in constant fear while working illegally for years, offering them the chance to move out of the costly camps.
This also means that thousands of employers will breathe a sigh of relief, as they can now hope to find the essential human resources needed to run their businesses, whether large or small.
We are particularly pleased that common sense has prevailed today!
