Ai Weiwei’s new film “Human Flow”, Golden Lion Nominee at the Venice Film Festival, reveals breathtaking refugee stories, following their journey in search of a homeland and invites us to help for a better world, by supporting METAdrasi.
The acknowledged artist and activist Ai Weiwei selected METAdrasi as the greek organization that stood out for its constant presence at the entry points of the refugee flows and all over Greece, offering substantial support, through innovative activities of crucial importance, focusing on the protection and care of unaccompanied children.
In “Human Flow”, Ai Weiwei does not only record the refugee flows since 2009 and the beginning of war in Syria, but also the “human flows” all over the world, in a planet that keeps downsizing, as mentioned in his film, making people’s coexistence indispensable, regardless of nationality or religion.
“…it’s my own journey in understanding who these people are, the differences that separate them, the different religions, the different languages…”, says Ai Weiwei, pointing out that he wishes to share this personal experience with the public: “…I appreciate every second Ι spent with them. I had the chance to look at them in the face, in the eyes…”
Ai Weiwei’s concerns are not limited to the depiction of the situation. He encourages us to contribute to the efforts of those on the frontline. We deeply appreciate his support.
