“In the classroom we become children ourselves. We learn, create and progress. We help each other. It is really nice that each of us has a different age, a different background, other stimuli and experiences. But the goal to successfully complete the training programme and to be employed as nannies in the future remains common”, says a beneficiary of the “Neighborhood Nannies” programme.
15 women of refugee and migrant origin attend the four-month nursery certification programme at a well-known Vocational Training Institute in Athens, Greek language courses at METAdrasi’s education center, as well as a series of seminars on first aid, child protection, medical terminology and the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
Through this comprehensive training programme, implemented by METAdrasi with the valuable support of the UNHCR GREECE, the participants give their best in order to make a decisive step towards their goal: to be employed as professionals in the field of care of infants and young children.
