“Life is short, so we must never forget to smile and say thank you for the things that we have”

31.08.2022

“Life is short, so we must never forget to smile and say thank you for the things that we have.” These words acquire an extra weight when they are said by a small unaccompanied child who has found himself alone in our country, living in METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Chios.

The occasion was the speech of the local author, Stefanos Xenakis, who presented his new book to the public. We were all impressed with the interest that little M. showed in the author’s speech, but also with the fact that he immediately grasped the meaning of his new book. At the conclusion of the presentation, he hurried to speak with Mr. Xenakis. He did not fail to ask him to sign his book, while he was photographed with him with a smile and a thank you for the things that he has.
