METAdrasi’s annual vasilopita

31.03.2026

With joy, warmth, and plenty of delicious food from around the world prepared by the METAdrasi team, we celebrated our annual vasilopita cutting in our new offices.

Slices were shared for all our teams and all our locations across Greece — on the mainland and islands — as well as in Cyprus. This year, for the first time, the lucky coin fell to METAdrasi itself. The other two lucky coins went to two much-loved members of our team: little Avra from the Accompaniment Support Department and the wonderful Hamida, one of METAdrasi’s exceptional interpreters.

As every year, one of the most meaningful moments of our celebration was the awarding of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation [read more here] medals to three outstanding colleagues:

Anna, caregiver at the accommodation facility for unaccompanied children in Chios, in whose recognition we honor all those who quietly and steadfastly support, every day, the children assisted by our organization.

Tzina, who for more than 13 years has been a valued member of our team, in recognition of her dedication, selflessness, and long-standing contribution to the field of interpretation.

And Elpida, a newer member of our team, who has already made her mark through her warmth, efficiency, and remarkable ability to find solutions to every challenge.

The year behind us was one of the most difficult in METAdrasi’s history. And as global developments continue to unfold, the number of people forced to flee their homes in order to save their lives and protect their families does not seem to be decreasing. Despite the challenges, METAdrasi will continue to stand on the front line with the same commitment and strength, doing everything possible to support uprooted children, women, and men, so they can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
