One Acre Fund supports Africa’s small farmer families in building resilient communities by providing training and support for more efficient farming.
More than 50 million families in sub-Saharan Africa earn their livelihoods from small farms, which produce 80% of the continent’s food. Strengthening sustainable production makes an important contribution to local economies, empowering populations living in extreme poverty who rely on agriculture for their livelihoods. One Acre Fund’s goal by 2030 is to provide support to 10 million farmers to open new pathways to prosperity, recognizing the vital role they play in addressing huge humanitarian challenges such as hunger and climate change.
