Santa in Chios!

30.12.2016

Christmas, as a celebration for children, is a good opportunity to give them joy. Especially when it comes to refugee children in a hot spot away from their homeland.

Despite the difficult circumstances, our team sought to create a festive atmosphere, creating a makeshift Christmas tree, in the spirit of recycling.

In collaboration with the Reception and Identification Service’s Education Department, we prepared a feast with music and surprises for approximately 200 children hosted in VIAL refugee camp.

Although the children did not know much about Christmas customs, this different day brought a pleasant recreation to them. Santa Claus handed them out gifts, and of course took care, immediately after, to visit the unaccompanied children in METAdrasi’s Accommodation Facility.
