Successful completion of one more “Identification and Management of Torture Victims’ Cases” training seminar

30.03.2023

Last week one more training seminar entitled “Identification and Management of Torture Victims’ Cases” was successfully completed in the framework of the Hope and Memory: Ιdentification & Certification of Victims of Torture programme.

The training was actively attended by 90 doctors and health workers who work in hospitals in the region of Attica and come into daily contact with vulnerable groups of the population. METAdrasi’s interdisciplinary team – always keeping in mind the proper information and awareness of people on the front line – addressed issues related to the mental health of torture victims and their clinical picture, while also defining the legal framework of protection.

The ensuing discussion was highly constructive with the team answering all the questions, setting the stage for further research and reflection on the field. More training activities are planned in the coming period, both for officials of institutional bodies and civil society organisations.
