The Ambassador of France to Greece, Ms Laurence Auer, together with her counterpart, the Ambassador of Germany, Mr Andreas Kindl, visited our shelter in Chios yesterday as part of their visit to the island.

METAdrasi’s Accommodation Centre for Unaccompanied Minors in Chios, was created in 2016 with the valuable support of the French Republic, while thereafter the assistance of supporters, organisations and other entities has been significant. The aim of the structure is to provide unaccompanied children with a safe and suitable living environment, away from the camps, and until they make the “transition” to a more permanent accommodation.

To date, more than 290 children have been accommodated in our shelter in Chios, which is the only temporary accommodation facility for unaccompanied children operating on the island.

METAdrasi’s Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Chios, operates since August 2023 with the support of the Greek programme – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, co-funded by the European Union.
