The little creations of the unaccompanied children of our Transit Accommodation Facility in Samos

Metadrasi - METAdrasi taf Samos pebbles

The unaccompanied children of our Transit Accommodation Facility in Samos had the idea to take advantage of the time they regularly spend at the beach in order to collect and paint small stones.

After picking them one by one, they carried them in their backpacks and laid them out on the table. Like true artists, they looked at them from different angles until they decided what to draw in each one.

With inspiration and imagination, they took their brushes and started painting happy faces, houses, flowers, rainbows. “Transforming” the stones into objects of joy, they placed them in their rooms next to their own things, toys, pots; small creations that remind us every day to enjoy the simple things in life.

METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facility in Samos is funded since June 2020 by EEA Grants in the framework of the Asylum and Migration programme.
