Basketball game with the Greek national team

In early August, we had the pleasure of watching our favorite team play their first friendly game in preparation for EuroBasket 2025. Unaccompanied children from the Synyparxis accommodation facility visited the stadium to watch the Greece-Belgium game. They watched with excitement as the national team played basketball at the highest level, preparing for its subsequent success in winning third place in EuroBasket later in the summer!

To the beat of the music

On Thursday, July 3, 2025, METAdrasi and “Together in Sport – Phase II” attended the Eisvoleas – Fasouli concert at Technopolis in the Municipality of Athens. The teenage refugees immediately got into the rhythm of the music and, together with other young people their age, enjoyed this exceptional summer concert.

Double action: Circular Team Sports Program

“Together in Sport – Phase II” offered children a unique experience of athletic acquaintance and coexistence through two activities that took place on Friday, July 11, in Mytilene. The morning was filled with smiles, enthusiasm, and creative energy, as the children had the opportunity to get in touch with Olympic sports, get to know each other, and share the value of teamwork, effort, and fair play. Through a series of interactive stations, the young participants were introduced to sports such as beach volleyball, laser run, fencing, boxing, and handball, under the guidance of specialized coaches and trainers.

In the afternoon of the same day, teenagers from the organization Ιliaktida shelters participated in a dynamic and experiential sports activity at the 5×5 “Spanos” venue. The children participated in laser run, fencing, boxing, and handball.

“Searching for a solution to violence”

The two-hour experiential workshop “Searching for a solution to violence” was successfully held at the welcoming venue of Oxygen Summer Camp. Through theatrical games, simulations, and group discussions, the children reflected, collaborated, and proposed their own ideas for preventing and addressing violence.

Training on child protection issues

Two more in-person capacity building sessions were held in Lesvos for employees of the Iliaktida organization. METAdrasi trainers presented important information about unaccompanied minors and child protection to the participants, who gained valuable knowledge for both their personal lives and their professional careers.

Sports activities in Attica

The last training sessions of the season took place in July for Taekwondo. The children participated with enthusiasm and concluded their training with wishes for a wonderful summer and plans to meet again next season!

Sports and cultural activities in Tanagra

The temperature may have risen, but that did not deter the children, who continued their weekly kickboxing training and artistic activities in modern dance and theater.
