Τhe unaccompanied children transform our Accommodation Facility in Samos, into a house of flowers

06.05.2022

Τhe unaccompanied children decided to transform our Transit Accommodation Facility in Samos, into a house of flowers; their love for the flowers, the colors and the scents, motivated them to bring a spring breath in their daily lives.

Marigolds, daisies and kalanchoe filled every corner of their yard and balconies. And because we are also environmentally conscious, the children collected various containers in order to use as pots. With brushes and markers in our hands we started by painting the pots to welcome the flowers that the children had chosen.

At the next stage, our little gardeners carefully transferred the flowers to the pots so as not to break their roots. Then, they put enough soil to accelerate the growth of the plants, while they decorated the soil with shells to give a sea breeze to their creations.
And now, every day the children rush to water the flowers and watch them grow, becoming more and more beautiful.

METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facility in Samos is funded since June 2020 by EEA Grants in the framework of the Asylum and Migration programme.
