Metadrasi - chios land metadrasi kathimeriniIt was the eye contact with the sea which intrigued Mustafa to use his mobile phone in order to depict it – as it was, immense and unpredictable. “Since then, I replaced my mobile phone with a camera that a friend in the shelter gave me, and the sea around Souda (Chios) with landscapes of the mainland”, recounts to Ioanna Fotiadi of “Kathimerini” newspaper, 17-year-old Mustafa Omar from Syria, whose photos compose the photography exhibition “Chios Land”, that will be held by METAdrasi from 11 to 20 of May, at the Public Benefit Foundation “Maria Tsakos” in Chios.

The opening of the exhibition is being prepared with great enthusiasm by the children and the staff of METAdrasi’s facility, which is supported by Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and will take place on Friday May 11th, at 19:30.

The exhibition will be held with the contribution of Chios Public Prosecutor Spyridoula Stavrati, kindly hosted at “Maria Tsakos” Public Benefit Foundation and supported by Chios Photography Club and the Directorate of Secondary Education. The printing of the photos is offered by Demertzis Digital. The professional photographer Orestis Seferoglou provided valuable advice to the young photographer.
