A former unaccompanied minor visited our Facility in Chios in order to share with the children the love and warmth he had received at the time he lived there.

Adnan, who is now a chemistry university student in Sweden, first revealed to the children the alchemists’ secrets by helping them make colours from natural materials. In the following days, he talked to them about his life in Europe, his experience at the Accommodation Facility, his dreams and anxiety about the future, but also about the challenges he faced. The people at the Facility were touched while listening to him talk about how important their support was to him, while he was staying there.

The children were fascinated by the world of chemistry that Adnan introduced them to, but most importantly, through his words, they found that the will to live is the best compass one can have for the future.

METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facilities in Chios and in Samos are funded since June 2020 by EEA Grants in the framework of the Asylum and Migration programme.
