We were very pleased to welcome to METAdrasi Stream 3 of the Blended Intensive Programme “Social Sciences and Humanities Going Public – Research and Practice with, in and for the Society” of the CIVIS European University Alliance, focusing on migration, diversity, identities, social inclusion, and education.
The group, consisting of professors, PhD candidates, and students from different countries, had the opportunity to learn first-hand about METAdrasi’s educational work, receive information about our educational guides and methodology, and attend a Greek language lesson with a class of our students.
A few days later, our students, together with their teacher, visited the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, continuing this wonderful encounter. There, they were welcomed by the students who had previously visited us, while our students had the opportunity to attend the presentation, get to know the university premises, and visit the library.
The students spoke about what impressed them in METAdrasi’s language classes: the use of the students’ mother tongues in the lesson, the warm atmosphere in the classroom, as well as the words of the students themselves, who said that at METAdrasi they feel like they are part of a family, with safety and freedom to express themselves.
