METAdrasi joined their voices with the Scouts of Greece (East Attica) in the framework of the project “Together in Sport – Phase II” bringing together refugee children with their peers from the local community.
The concept “Bridging Worlds” reflects the effort to connect different communities and was celebrated by 170 children from refugee shelters and members of the Scouts of Greece, aged 13-17. The children participated in a series of games and fun challenges in the courtyard of the Zappeion Megaron and were then transported by bus to the Metropolitan Park “Antonis Tritsis”, and the beautiful area of the Scout Educational Center PI.VA. They all cooked and dined together, tasting cuisines from different cultures. The day ended with the Scouts teaching their refugee peers knotting techniques, making a simple yet beautiful bracelet, which will accompany them all as a reminder of this colorful activity, as a symbol of friendship.
This beautiful celebration is a positive example of community engagement and social integration, the first of many activities that highlight intercultural cooperation and acceptance, along with the values of inclusion and diversity, offering the most beautiful and meaningful lessons for all children.

“Together in Sport-Phase II” is implemented by METAdrasi (project coordinator), the Hellenic Olympic Committee, and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). The German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) supports with coordination and co-funding. The action is carried out in cooperation with municipalities across various regions of Greece.
