“The world is three days long. Yesterday is gone and it will not return. We live in today and we will not regret it. Tomorrow we do not know what will be like. Therefore, forgive and forget.”
A saying from her country of origin was translated into Greek by a 13-year-old girl who had visited the Mother and Child Space in the Asylum Service of Thessaloniki.
Many children, like this girl, find every month a safe space to spend their time creatively, while their parents wait to be served by the Asylum Service.
In these specially designed areas, mothers can breastfeed and take care of their babies, while young children have the opportunity to play safely and to be occupied creatively by our team members, with the valuable help of our volunteers.
To date, more than 98,000 visits have been made by mothers and children to our Mother and Child Spaces.
The activity is being implemented with the support of UNICEF Greece and in cooperation with the Asylum Service (Ministry of Migration and Asylum).
