PRESS RELEASE

European conference
“Integration for Unaccompanied Minors:

Α multidimensional approach by PROUD project”
April 13-14, 2022, Athens, Greece

The partners of the PROUD project, with the coordination of METAdrasi, announce the conference “Integration for Unaccompanied Minors: A multidimensional approach by PROUD project”, which will take place on April 13 and 14, 2022 at the CROWNE PLAZA Hotel in Athens. The deputy Minister of the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum, Sofia Voultepsi, as well as the Special Secretary for the Protection of the Unaccompanied Minors, Heracles Moskoff, will address opening remarks.

At the conference – which marks the successful completion of the two-year course of the PROUD project – pioneering best practices, such as Supported Independent Living (SIL) and mentoring for unaccompanied minors, will be discussed, as well as the challenges and problems that these young people face in their integration into local communities, especially in their transition to adulthood.

At the two-day conference the results of a survey on the integration of unaccompanied minors in four European countries (Greece, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands), will be presented, highlighting good practices and the views of the minors on the difficulties they face. In addition, the mentoring protocol that was successfully developed and implemented in Greece, facilitating the transition of unaccompanied minors from care structures to independent living, will also be presented. Representatives of International Organizations, institutions and civil society organizations from Greece and Europe, will express their positions and views on the issues of integration of unaccompanied minors.

English will be the official language of the conference and Greek/English translation will be provided on the first day.
The conference will be broadcasted via live streaming (DAY 1DAY 2)

You may find the conference program, here.
