Metadrasi - METAdrasi Issa

Following the tradition started in 2019 of awarding team members with a small medal from those accompanying the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation prize, this year the medal was awarded to Issa.

Issa is an extraordinary man who came to Greece from Palestine to study medicine. Always ready to help his fellow human beings, during the period of the so-called “refugee crisis” he decided to become an interpreter for METAdrasi, traveling all over Greece, wherever there was a need.

After some years, and in order to focus on his studies and personal goals, Issa stopped practicing as an interpreter. But he never forgot us! Each year, he is always available to volunteer to teach the new interpreters participating in our training seminars medical terminology and ways of preventing contagious diseases.

In symbolic recognition of his valuable contribution, the least we could do for Issa, apart from a big “thank you”, is to award him the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation medal.
