The common perception about refugees is that they are people coming from distant countries, like Afghanistan, Syria, or the African continent.
The war against Ukraine that broke out this morning, is at our “doorstep” on the European continent, reminding us that refugees are forced to flee their home because their lifes and freedom are in danger.
Thousands of people have already abandoned their homes, and our wish as European citizens, is that, if push come to shove, we will treat them as we would like to be treated should we be in their place.
