Patrick* is 15 years old and comes from an African country. He arrived in Greece with his mother and younger brother, three years ago and today lives in the refugee camp of Katsikas, in Ioannina.
Patrick’s dream is to become a professional football player! He loved football from a young age, but in his country he did not have the opportunity to join a team. He had learned a few things on his own, watching his favorite player, Ronaldo, in a cinema.
Today, with his participation in the “Together in Sport” project, he finally has the opportunity to play his favorite sport and prepare for his future.
Patrick is one of the 100 children who, on Saturday, May 21, participated in the sports football activity that took place in Ioannina, in collaboration with the Sports Association “PAS THYELLA KATSIKAS”. The children of the local communities, who came from five sports clubs, but also from the Hospitality Structures of Katsikas, Ioannina and Phillipiada, Preveza, were thrilled with the tournament: they played friendly matches, hung out, laughed, had fun. In the end, they were awarded medals and a bag of souvenirs to remember for a long time this special day.
*The child’s name has been changed in order to protect his personal data.
