METAdrasi’s friends from the United States of America, from the city of Sarasota in Florida, set off to support refugees and migrants in Chios.

After creating the “Sarasota Friends of Chios Refugees” action group, they organized a fundraising dinner with Greek flavors. With the raised funds, they bought and sent us humanitarian aid (warm clothes, towels etc.).

Last week, this material was shipped to Chios, where, with the care of METAdrasi’s local team, it reached the refugees and migrants that are living in VIAL hotspot, under adverse conditions, as well as the unaccompanied children that are hosted in METAdrasi’s accommodation facility on Chios.

There are still considerable needs. Every help that is offered, from far or close, is more than welcome.

Warm thanks to our friends from the U.S. for their touching initiative!

We would also like to thank Hellenic Seaways, for offering the free transportation of the humanitarian aid to Chios, as well as Stavros Niarchos Foundation for their substabtial support to METAdrasi’s accommodation facility in Chios.
