Young and adult students visit the National Museum of Contemporary Art and the ΠΟΙΩ lab

For another year we make good use of the summer time to bring our students, minors and adults, closer to the culture and history of our country, through activities that open their horizons and help them gain new experiences.

Adult students visited the National Museum of Contemporary Art where they were given a guided tour, admired exhibitions by artists from around the world and from their home countries, stood in front of various artistic creations and discussed their thoughts and feelings. For some of our students this was the first time they visited such an art space and they did not hesitate to express their enthusiasm.

At the same time, our younger students visited the ΠΟΙΩ lab in Serafio of the Municipality of Athens. The children admired 3D printers, lasers, a robotic hand and played interactive games. They had the chance to approach technology through experimentation, but also through playing! And because our children quickly completed the “ostomachion”, the oldest puzzle in the world, they got a gift of an ostomachion to continue practicing at school!

Since 2010, more than 5,100 adult students have enrolled in Greek language courses, while since the start of the Step2School programme in 2017, more than 3,000 underage students have attended classes.

METAdrasi’s educational programmes are implemented with the valuable contribution of volunteers. Since the summer of 2020, the Step2School programme has been supported by the Liu Kuo-Chun Educational Foundation, Hong Kong. Greek language courses for adults are implemented with the support of the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation.
