Taking into account the constant rise in the number of unaccompanied children that arrive in Greece, having lost their parents or having been separated from them, METAdrasi, in collaboration with the competent social services and authorities, which conduct the provisioned by the law social research, launched an Unaccompanied Minors’ Foster Care Programme. The programme’s objective is to help in the psychomotor and sentimental development of these children, by offering them the attention, love and stimulus that every child needs, within a safe family environment.
The Foster Care initiative is an activity under which the foster family undertakes the short or long term hospitality of a child, following its needs.
Within the framework of this programme, METAdrasi is seeking for families, consisting of spouses or single persons, which are willing to undertake the care and the support of an unaccompanied minor.
Informative sessions on the Foster Care programme take place every first and third Wednesday of each month, from 16.00 to 17.00, in the headquarters of METAdrasi in Tavros, 25 Martiou Street 7, 1st floor.
Those interested to find out more are kindly invited to sign up for the informative sessions on the following numbers: 2141008700 and 2141008717 or at foster@metadrasi.org.
