METAdrasi’s Transit Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Thessaloniki began its operation in early March 2017 and is located in a beautiful location outside the city of Thessaloniki, where children can enjoy a protected everyday life in nature.
It is a friendly place that the children, together with the facility’s staff, filled with drawings and cheerful colors!
Katerina, Head of the Facility, tells us:
“I like the way we all work as a group. Activities such as cultural excursions, gymnastics in our yard, music lessons combined with the observation of the sounds of nature, the children’s approach on the Greek language, help us get to know each other better and trust each other. The 18 children hosted in the Facility have faced traumatic experiences in the past but all together we are trying to overcome the difficulties. This brings us closer to each other – we become a family!”
