Crucial situation at the Reception and Identification Centers

Metadrasi - metadrasi moria campYesterday, a woman and a baby were killed by the fire that broke out in the afternoon at the Reception and Identification Center in Lesvos.

METAdrasi’s team were at Moria’s RIC until late at night, in order to calm, inform and support unaccompanied minors residing in the center. Until early morning, a team of interpreters remained at Bostaneio Hospital to assist the doctors in communicating with the injured.

The situation is crucial and there is an imperative need for facilities in the mainland to be found, so as to transport thousands of vulnerable cases from all Reception and Identification Centers on the islands and Orestiada.

We wish strength and courage to our teams of guardians and interpreters located in Lesvos, Samos, Chios, Kos, Leros and Orestiada.
