The unaccompanied children at our shelter in Samos took us on a journey through their home countries, exploring the world and its cultures together.
First, we found Greece and the children’s countries of origin on the map. We explored distances and routes and practised our map-reading skills.
Then, each child took a turn introducing their home country: its language, landmarks, customs and traditional foods. Through their presentations, we discovered new places and got to know one another better!
The children enthusiastically shared aspects of their cultures and felt proud of what they presented to the group.
Every child has something valuable to share — and we all have something to learn when we listen.
Since August 2023, METAdrasi’s Accommodation Facility for Unaccompanied Minors in Samos, operates with the support of the Migration and Home Affairs Funds (TAMEY), co-funded by the European Union.
